69% of AMC Cinephiles Say Brand Should Accept Dogecoin (DOGE)

One of the world’s largest movie chains, AMC Entertainment, is considering accepting Dogecoin (DOGE) for online payments.

Following the announcement that AMC will begin accepting Bitcoin online payments (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Litecoin (SLD) by the end of 2021, company CEO Adam Aron asked the community on Twitter if the popular meme token should be included as well.

The poll, which ends on September 22, generated a lot of responses, with most of them voting for AMC to include the token itself.

So far, with nearly 69% of people voting ‘yes, sure, do it’, poll results suggest the movie theater chain may opt to add Dogecoin to its upcoming crypto payment options.

The poll has so far registered nearly 128,000 votes, with over 77% responding positively to the idea of ​​adding the Dogecoin option, as an additional 8.6% supported the idea, but said it ‘they would not use the coin itself for payment.

Only about 23% of voters were not in favor of the motion, with 7% saying it “doesn’t matter” and just under 16% saying it would be a “waste of effort”.

The growing awareness of Dogecoin is reflected in the token’s $ 27.6 billion market capitalization. It hit an all-time high (ATH) in May, when its price hit $ 0.75, but is currently trading at around $ 0.2.

Most of Dogecoin popularity is due to its famous supporters like Elon musk and Marc Cuban.

In May, a similar poll has already been carried out by the CEO of Tesla, who asked if the electric vehicle maker should start accepting the meme token for payments.
