July 12, 2021 – Benchmark Executive Search, a boutique cybersecurity talent, recently named Ben Wenger as chief revenue officer for Dedrone in San Francisco. In his role, Mr. Wenger leads global sales to deliver counter-drone technology to corporations and government customers around the world. “We’re excited to see Ben’s progress and the Dedrone team solving problems for new federal and business customers,” said Jeremy King, President of Benchmark.
Mr. Wenger has a two-decade career in business technology sales. Previously, he was vice president of sales at Everbridge, an emergency communications technology company, where he built the go-to-market strategy to include strategic global integrators and scaled the global sales team to achieve significant revenue growth. A seasoned enterprise software sales director, Mr. Wenger built his career at enterprise software company CA Technologies, where he led a team of sales executives focused on CA’s most strategic customers, culminating in the acquisition of CA Technologies by Broadcom Inc. in 2018.
Dedrone was founded in 2014 and is an airspace security provider. Critical infrastructures, government operations, military facilities, correctional facilities and businesses trust the drone defense system to protect against unauthorized small drones. With the flexibility to host in the cloud or on-premise, Dedrone’s SaaS technology combines cutting-edge software with world-class sensors and effectors to provide early warning, classification and defense against all drone threats.

Benchmark Executive Search, based in Reston, VA, is focused on helping startups, emerging growth companies, and midsize businesses recruit senior executives with experience in government or the private public sector working in the defense, intelligence and security markets national security in areas such as information technology, military communications, homeland security, cyber war, cloud and analytics, among others.
The hunt for leading cyber technologies is getting hotter as the risks multiply
As organizations increasingly rely on digital infrastructures, cybersecurity threats increase in number, persistence, and sophistication. For this reason, âcyber resilienceâ has become a long-term agenda item at board level.
Mr. King, the company’s founder, has nearly 20 years of executive recruiting experience. He specializes in the interface between VC / PE-backed technology innovators, government contractors, and federal mission needs to match them with senior cyber / national / corporate security executives and board members. He has built close relationships with government and industry insiders, particularly within the intelligence community, DoD, and national security communities. He has worked with over 350 startups, emerging growth companies and publicly traded executives.
“At a time when cyber risk is spreading faster than ever before in history, organizations continue to struggle to find proven leaders who can help them defend and mitigate those risks,” said King. âThis is especially true for national security, when solving the toughest business-critical problems requires the best of minds. Since we’re in the middle of the ecosystem of top talent recruiting for hot tech companies in national security, we don’t see any slowdown in the demand for cyber talent. And personally, I don’t think supply will ever catch up with demand. “
Benchmark Executive Search also recently joined Ben Conklin as Chief Product Officer at Janes, a UK-based global agency for open source defense intelligence. The position reports to CEO Blake Bartlett. “Ben Conklin brings a great background, proven leadership, and extensive product and mission expertise to Jane,” said King. “We look forward to seeing his progress.” To fill the key role in the Washington, DC area, Janes turned to a search firm with industry experience, reputation, and track record to attract an influential executive.
“Benchmark was so highly recommended by US executives that I had no hesitation in hiring Jeremy King and Benchmark to find it when we needed to hire a proven product leader to accelerate our business,” said Mr. Bartlett. “Benchmarks professionalism, attention to detail, customer excellence and the ability to attract outstanding candidates is world class.”
