After a meteoric rise throughout March, BTC experienced a mild correction ahead of the start of the Bitcoin 2022 conference in Miami.

The world’s most valuable cryptocurrency is enjoying a rare moment of stability, but could be boosted by any major positive news from the world’s largest bitcoin conference.

Other top cryptocurrencies including Ethereum (ETH), Binance Coin (BNB), and Ripple (XRP) have all mirrored bitcoin’s moves, but dogecoin has seen big gains in recent days.

The calm in the crypto market may be about to end, according to some analysts, who anticipate big moves following the announcements coming out of Bitcoin 2022.

The Miami event is the same one Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele announced last year that his country would adopt BTC as a legal form of tendering.

BTC Price So Far Does Not See 2022 Bitcoin Rise

There was a lot of talk among analysts ahead of Bitcoin 2022 that the conference could give the cryptocurrency price a boost and potentially even trigger the second leg of the recent rally.

Nearly 24 hours after the start of the world’s biggest bitcoin event, BTC is actually down 3%, while other top cryptocurrencies like Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL) and Cardano (ADA ) experienced similar losses of between 3 and 5% on the last day.

Despite the correction, the positivity surrounding the Miami event prompted some industry figures to renew their searing predictions for bitcoin. Marcus Sotiriou, an analyst at digital asset broker GlobalBlock, thinks indices of Russia and Australian mining companies could see oil and gasoline traded using bitcoin, making it a “petro- active” neutral.

He shared his thoughts with us:

Widespread adoption continues as Australian petrol and convenience giant OTR will accept bitcoin as a means of payment. OTR will be the largest brick-and-mortar retailer to accept bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

This adds more weight to the idea of bitcoin becoming a petro-asset, after Putin recently allowed “friendly” countries to pay for oil in bitcoin.
