Digital bank ING Philippines recently launched its security education campaign called #SimplySecuredWithING to encourage the adoption of online banking in the country. The campaign aims to allay any remaining public concerns about online financial transactions.

“Digital banking adoption is here to stay and all players in this ecosystem, from banks to e-wallets and payment service providers, need to make ‘security’ their top priority while providing a seamless and frictionless banking experience in today’s digital age. said Hans Sicat, Country Head and Managing Director of ING Philippines, in a media briefing. “The underlying goal is to create a simpler, more straightforward experience while protecting our customers and their accounts.”

Based on the belief that a secure and seamless banking experience does not have to be complicated or accessible only to “technical” users, ING wants to reassure its customers that it is #SimplySecuredWithING so that they are more encouraged to embrace digital banking .

Campaign hero footage shows how ING protects its customers in everyday scenarios:

  • device binding
    ING uses “device binding”, whereby a customer’s ING Account can only be accessed via mobile devices authorized by the customer through facial recognition and personal data authentication. ING assures that this reduces the chances of account hacking and unauthorized access.
  • Continuous monitoring
    24/7 account monitoring and confirmation messages are sent with every transaction so the customer is informed of any activity on their account.
  • emergency measures
    In the event of suspicious activity, ING verifies the transaction directly with the customer and offers the option to either confirm the transaction or restrict account and card usage while an investigation takes place. Customers can also block or unblock their debit cards with one tap via the ING mobile app if they need to secure them.

“Beyond the regular security reminders, the #SimplySecuredWithING campaign aims to inform ING customers by using everyday scenarios and simplifying terms to understand ING’s existing security features. More importantly, our customers are able to respond to these common scenarios related to their accounts as illustrated in the video. Through this, ING hopes to work with our customers to build secure digital banking practices while reassuring them of the high level of security measures put in place to protect their accounts,” said Sicat.
