Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman confirm that Deadpool and Logan are Disney+’s first R-rated movies, and their reactions are classic

Though Disney+ is still largely a family-friendly streaming service, more content aimed specifically at older audiences has been added to the platform in recent months. If you look at the Marvel empire, for example, it shows how daredevil and jessica jones from Netflix are now available to watch on Disney+, although you’ll need to make sure your parental controls are set up properly to ensure little ones don’t accidentally watch these shows. Well, now the platform is getting its first R-rated movies in the form of Dead Pool, dead pool 2 and loganand Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have given some classic answers.

Disney+ has been home to many Fox-era X-Men movies for a while, and starting tomorrow, July 22, Disney+ subscribers can watch too Dead Pool, dead pool 2 and logan, the only R-rated entries in this superhero franchise. However, leave it to Ryan Reynolds to remind people that some of the Disney movies made for the kids aren’t exempt from providing their own questionable material.

Ok, let’s go through the four Disney movies highlighted by Ryan Reynolds in the tweet above. First we have Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the first full-length feature film of the House of Mouse, with content such as the titular princess breaking into the house of gnomes and the diamonds these seven men may not be cruelty-free mining. Next there is old screamer, which is emotionally traumatizing just because the dog witnesses its death. And then there’s The Lion King, who traumatized many children with Mufasa’s death, but perhaps Reynolds is right that we should take a sideways look at Simba and Nala’s relationships. Finally we have Bambi, which Reynolds once attempted to cross with Deadpool. That didn’t work out, but today the Merc with the Mouth actor wants people to remember how brutal it is to see Bambi’s mother die.

He moved over to Hugh Jackman and shared a picture that came out of the officially Dead Pool Twitter account shows VHS copies of Dead Pool, dead pool 2 and logan (if only they could actually be bought) alongside some classic DC animated movies. While the original post joked about how people should stream these X-Men movies before they’re sent back to the Disney vault, Jackman moved on to his Instagram Stories that indicate these films were in good company. See, it’s funny because it’s the complete opposite. “Be our guest”. Beauty and the Beast Playing was a nice touch too.

While Dead Pool movies & logan were previously streamable on Hulu, you’ll now find this trio alongside most of the MCU’s offerings and some older Marvel films, like the 2005 and 2015 versions of Fantastic Four. While logan was Hugh Jackman’s final appearance as Wolverine after nearly two decades playing and watching the mutant claws Dead Pool and dead pool 2 on Disney+ would be wise for those who want to see Ryan Reynolds in his red suit for years to come. Yes, if you’ve been living under a rock for the past few years, dead pool 3 is on the way, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are returning to write the screenplay, and The Adam Project‘s Shawn Levy is in the director’s chair.

CinemaBlend will continue to share updates each month on what’s being added to Disney+ and how dead pool 3 comes with. Don’t forget to browse our upcoming Marvel Movies Guide to see what else the MCU is sending to the big screen.
