Haiku, Inc. today announced that it has released the computer game World of Haiku® on Steam with compatibility across PC, Mac and Linux platforms. The World of Haiku is an exciting role-playing game (RPG) that trains players in specific cybersecurity skills that align with Certified Ethical Hacker training. With each mission, players will understand how the real Linux operating system works and how to control tools like JohnTheRipper, Hydra, Nmap, Ping, SSH and many more.

In The World of Haiku, players are sent on missions to stop a series of cyberterrorist attacks taking place in the year 2049. A cast of supporting characters leads players in their race against time to find computer viruses and stop the next global apocalypse. The innovative use of Linux-inspired commands coupled with simulations of real-world cyber tools throws players into an exciting adventure while earning skill-based badges along the way.

“You can have fun while learning hacking skills, and our game can also be a path to a career in cybersecurity,” says Eric Basu, founder of World of Haiku. “Our platform educates people about cybersecurity risks just by playing World of Haiku; And if you know how attackers can attack you, you’ll be better able to defend yourself.”

The World of Haiku is poised to be the first in a multi-volume series of adventures. As the story progresses and the characters develop, the player’s skills will also develop, both in gameplay and in practical hacking skills. The game volumes not only provide players with hours of fun and adventure, but reward them with skills that can open the door to new pros

occasions.
