Many updos can be difficult to master and sometimes they can make your hair look flat and lifeless.
But one woman showed how to easily create a ponytail full of volume with her clever scrunchie hack.
She says she uses a soft velvet scrunchie instead of an elastic hair tie to limit damage as she pulls hair tight to create the lifted look.

Sharing the video to TikTok, she explains how she secretly adds an extra layer to the ponytail, with users saying it “changed her life.”
Kirsty, who posts numerous hair tutorials on her account, starts off by showing off her ice blonde highlighted locks in a high ponytail, turning sideways to allow viewers to see her profile.
“Ponytail looks flat?” She asks.
She then films herself re-doing her ponytail, but the last time she wraps the hair tie around her hair, she only takes it around the bottom half of the ponytail – creating a second hidden ponytail underneath.
“Tie the last section of your hair tie around the bottom half of your pony only!” She writes.
She then flips the top ponytail over the bottom one, captioned: “Extra lift and volume.”
The video has garnered more than 200,000 comments, with user Shannon replying, “This just changed my life omg”.
User ndy said “Omg it works…thanks for the tips”.
Danielle said, “Oh my god that’s awesome,” while Account PPP added, “You changed my life.”
Last week we shared how celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton, who works with Kim Kardashian’s locks, also creates thicker-looking bangs.
Demonstrating on a model, the British hairstylist said: “Try this hair hack for anyone looking to make their hair look thicker and up their bangs game.”
Filming the step-by-step with voiceover, Chris said: “It’s time to upgrade your ponytail in a few easy steps from here to now.
“You will need two rubber bands.
“All you do is part the hair in two and gather the top half into a high ponytail and secure with your elastic.
“Then split the bottom in two and pull it over the previous ponytail.
“This will basically make it look like you have twice as much hair as you do, so this is great for anyone with fine hair, and it really makes your ponytail full and glamorous.”
